Dennis has over 20 years of industry experience in a variety of areas of the building industry. His career began in a modest custom cabinetry shop working for his dad. Later, while attending college, he began working for a light commercial carpentry company that specialized in wood framing, exterior work, and custom woodworking and trim. As a team member for that company, Dennis ran several large commercial projects as well as many smaller residential projects. It was through this experience that he learned a systematic approach for quality control and the importance of utilizing a team based approach to project completion. In July of 2011 Dennis began working as the lead instructor of the Carpentry and Building Trades program at Southwestern Community College. There, he assisted students in building homes and duplexes until leaving in June of 2018 to run PLS Builders full time. Throughout his employment with SWCC, Dennis completed numerous small residential projects in addition to working at the college.

Toby has always had an interest in carpentry, since he was as little kid. It all started at home working with his dad remodeling their family home and little projects for friends and family. Around the age of nine was his first project, and from there the complexity of the projects grew. They had many projects started and completed. They remodeled the entire main level of their home, as well as, building an addition. This led Toby to start a little side business of selling handmade cutting boards, benches, wood crosses and yard games for people in his community. These projects led him to the SWCC high school carpentry program. Covid interrupted his junior year at SWCC and was eager to return his senior year. Toby’s work ethic and character are top notch and he’s always up for learning anything on the jobsite. We’re so glad to have him a part of the PLS Builders team.
